Design

In our design, we incorporated all the important and fun parts of Rotterdam!

Firstly, the ship represents the largest seaport in Europe. It is a crucial contributor to business opportunities of the whole Netherlands, and Europe. “A place where unlimited ambitions can become reality”. Do not miss a chance to have a nice tour, a meal or celebrate an important milestone with SS Rotterdam!

Montevideo Residential Tower has an “Holland – America feeling” of the pier and Hotel New York next to it. The structure combines American - style steel and typically Dutch concrete. Morover, it is one of the tallest building in the world designed by a woman (Francine Houben).

Unilever Nederland BV office building has a great view of the city centre and river Maas. Unilever is a British-Dutch company present in around 190 countries and is Europe’s 7th most valuable company! You have definitely come across its brands: Magnum, Dove, Lipton, Knorr, Rexona and many more.

Euromast has a breath-taking view of Rotterdam! All monumental buildings, bridges and river and harbour can be seen from there. ‘Euro’ stands for being in the heart of European Economic Area and ‘mast’ is an easy to understand word by many European language speakers. This is a great example of how international Rotterdam is!

Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk (firstly, built between 1449 and 1525 from wood) is the only remnant of the medieval city of Rotterdam. There are not many old buildings left in Rotterdam due to bombing of the city during WWII. It is important to preserve the ones still standing and honoring the history.

New Orleans is a 44-floor building, which is 158,3 m (519 ft) tall. It is currently the second tallest building not only in Rotterdam, but also in the Netherlands! This residential building has everything you want: swimming pool, gym, cinema and more. The skyscraper was designed by award-winning Álvaro Siza Vieira, a Portuguese architect.

And of course, Erasmusbrug! The 802 m long bridge in the centre of Rotterdam was named after Desiderius Erasmus, a Christian Renaissance humanist. It has a nickname 'The Swan' of its white colour and similar shape. Although, it takes some effort to bike over it, the view is stunning, and it is the place to be during World Port Days and NYE to enjoy the very best fireworks!
